Radio / Podcasts - Podcasts are audio files you download to your iPod or other mp3 player.  They download automatically each day.  You can also listen to these shows online at your convenience.

  • OnePlace.com - dozens of great radio shows you can listen to online or download
  • Stand to Reason - I highly recommend the daily podcasts and the weekly show.  Greg Koukl has a great approach to Christian thinking and sharing the Gospel in a productive way.
  • Walk in the Word  - I listen to James MacDonald’s sermons almost every day.
  • Family Life Today - great Biblically based show to help you be the best parent / spouse you can.
  • Focus on the Family - - great Biblically based show to help you be the best parent / spouse you can.
  • Grace to You - John MacArthur
  • Bible Answer Man

Charities

  • World Vision  A highly efficient and effective charity, they minister to people’s physical and spiritual needs all over the world.
  • CareNet Pregnancy Center of NW Houston (where I volunteer as a counselor and Board member)
  • Animal Therapy - No, our animals don’t get therapy (although they could use it!).  We take the dogs to Heartland Nursing home.  The residents love to see the dogs, and it makes a great ice-breaker for us and the girls to visit with them.
  • Faith Comes By Hearing - You can get the audio Bible in many versions and types - CD, cassette or MP3.  The prices are reasonable and it helps support getting audio Bibles to poor and illiterate people around the world.
  • Prison Fellowship - Exhorting, equipping, & assisting the Church in its ministry to prisoners, ex-prisoners, & their families.  Their in-prison programs dramatically reduce recidivism (criminals who return to jail).
  • Angel Tree - Bringing the love of Christ to prisoners’ kids across America

  1. cool blog…it certainly blessed me…

  2. Thanks, Martin - I really like your blog!

  3. I wanted to let you know of an amazing Bible Study Resource I use that you should consider adding to your resources and links. It has huge library of tools such as commentaries, 29 translations, devotionals, lexicons, maps, e-books, etc. Bible Study Tools at Christianity.com not only has an amazing set of tools, but you can also highlight text, save your own notes, use a split screen panel so you can see two translations, a translation and a commentary, etc. Definitely check it out!

  4. excellent blog, take a look at mine http://www.thebookofisaiah.com

  5. Hi there, I just wanted to chip in with another resource that I think could be very helpful to those looking to read The Bible. At http://www.dailyreader.net we’ve recently finished adding The New Testament. The way dailyreader works is that you decide on how long you want to read and what days you want to read on, and then it will send out automated installments to your email with your daily readings (http://www.dailyreader.net/content/book/The-Bible-(KJV):-Matthew ).
